Beau 5/29/87 - 7/4/02
Honey 4/12/92 - 6/18/02

They were the best dogs ever,

Honey was diagnosed with bone cancer in February 2002.  Dr. Schlange told me at that time I would probably have 4 months with her.  That is exactly what I had.  I had to make a very difficult decision to let her go June 18th.  As hard as that was, it was the best thing for her.  Two weeks later Beau fell ill.  Unable to really get a handle on what was making him sick, I came to the conclusion that he was heart broken and missing Honey.  When we realized that there was nothing that we could do to bring him back around to good health, I made the hardest decision of my life.  I had to let my best friend and companion of 15 years go.  But I realized that he needed to be with Honey.  I was very blessed to have had 2 wonderful dogs....Friends..like them.

Blue 12/09/93 - 11/09/08

An Ode to Blue

Magnificent and loyal an animal was he
Almost 15 years he honored us totally and completely!

Being with us daily, by our side
Blue was as gentle as the offshore tide

His kind demeanor was recognized by all
Friend or foe Blue beckoned to their call

He said farewell mid-morning today
Blue is heaven... and we are OK!

You belong among the wildflowers
You belong somewhere close to me
Far away from your trouble and worries
You belong somewhere you feel free

 Charlee 5/5/2001 - 1/28/09
Charlee was my heart.  He was so high spirited and loving.  He would always greet me when I came home and when I saw him, I would say his name (CHARLEE - in a English accent).  He loved that and would always stretch out his front legs as far as he could and meeaaooooow!

 Cinder 9/18/96 - 09/08

When Cinder was diagnosed with cancer at age 6 we were stunned as to how this could be,  but we knew we wanted to do whatever we could for her.  Since her cancer was in her mammory gland it was decided that her best chance for a cure was a mastectomy.  That choice gave us 6 more wonderful years with her.  She was alway a "laid back kinda gal" but she did love going fishing and whining when Ed missed the fish!  She brought so much joy into our life. We had so much fun with her and her buddies, "Jake and Duffie". We know God has her in a better place now and that is comforting.

 Duffie 11/27/94 - 12/21/08

Duffie came into my life when she was 6 wks old. A gift from a friend. Duffie was part of a trio of buddies with 2 buddies named "Jake and Cinder".  She went everywhere with me when I was not working and gave lots of kisses when I came home. In 2003 we moved to an area in the forest.  Our home was surrounded with pine, fir and oak trees.  She would watch the squirrels for hours, often chasing them. In her dreams I know she thought she could really catch one!  In late 2007 she started going deaf and was my shadow. This was okay by me!  She needed to be close. The year 2008 had her losing her sight as well.  I learned little tricks so that she always knew where I was.  Sadly I lost her in Dec. 2008, a few days before Christmas.  That year Christmas just was not good.  Her buddy in heaven, "Cinder" was waiting for her and I know they are ready to welcome "Jake".   She was the best kind of friend you could have!
